    When Jester Concepts took on the task of reinventing the old Porter & Frye location in the newly renovated Ivy Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, they teamed up with ESG Architects and General Contractor Scott Knuston. The concept of the restaurant was to offer a modern expression of genuine Italian cuisine. In keeping with that theme, when the team came to us for material selections, Italian white marble was the obvious choice.

  • Treasure Island

    The team at RSP Architects approached us with a few specific goals for this project. They were putting together a feature wall at the Tradewinds Buffet inside the Treasure Island Resort & Casino.  They wanted to make a bold statement with color. In addition, they wanted the panels to be book matched and backlit.  After presenting a few options, the architects settled on Honey Onyx for their preferred material. It was then up to us to source the perfect block.

  • Porcelain

    The first line we chose for porcelain slabs is truly an exercise in customization. Many lines produce slabs to look like what they think marble should look like, however our line uses photos of ACTUAL marble blocks recreated on a porcelain slab. The result is the exact look of natural marble without the hassle of etching and staining that is inherent in all marbles.

  • Penny’s Coffee

    Developer Ben Hertz came to us when putting together a new concept for a coffee shop located in the 100 Washington Square building in downtown Minneapolis. This site was originally developed in 1987 and has a unique design. The goal was to match that sentiment on the interior of Penny’s Coffee. Ben, along with the building owners, wanted something classic, yet completely unique. They found the perfect fit in our Pietra Grey honed marble.

  • Coup d’état

    The concept for the recently opened coup d’état was smart and stylish. Located in the Walkway building in Minneapolis’ Uptown neighborhood, this restaurant is leading the area’s current renaissance. Taking on such a large area is no small task - our Calacatta Altissimo was a fitting selection for this new, hip, fun and lively space.
